To Every Brave Soul Living with Diabetes — You Are Not Alone
Every single day counts.
The new season is a great reason to make and keep resolutions. Whether it’s eating right or cleaning out the garage, here are some tips for making and keeping resolutions.
Not just the days when your blood sugars are in range, or when your meals go exactly as planned, or when you have the energy to take on the world — but every day. Even the hard ones. Even the ones when you’re tired, overwhelmed, or just trying to make it to the next moment.
Check the list regularly.
Living with diabetes is not easy. It’s a deeply personal journey that only you can truly understand — the finger pricks, the carb counts, the constant mental math, the invisible weight of a condition that never sleeps. It can feel like a quiet battle that you’re fighting alone.
But I want you to hear this loud and clear:
You are not alone. There is hope.
As a specialist diabetes educator, I walk this path beside you — not to take it over, but to make it lighter. To help you find rhythm in the chaos, to equip you with knowledge, and to encourage you when it feels too heavy. I see your courage. I honour your resilience. And I believe, with the right support, you can thrive.
This isn’t about perfection— it’s about progress, purpose, and learning to live fully and freely, even with diabetes in the picture.
So if you’re tired, take a breath. If you’re unsure, reach out. And if you’ve lost a little hope, borrow mine for a while. I’m here for you — for every question, every fear, every win, and every quiet victory.
You don’t have to do this alone.
With heart,
Helen Cyster
